The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive Wellbeing Officer to support the emotional, psychological, and physical wellbeing of students and staff. The postholder will provide one-to-one support, early intervention, crisis escalation, and signposting to internal and external services while helping build a safe, inclusive, and supportive culture.
Main Duties
Other Duties:
- Provide confidential 1:1 wellbeing support to students and staff
- Identify needs and signpost to internal/external services
- Deliver wellbeing workshops and awareness campaigns
- Promote a positive wellbeing culture across LCKA
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with safeguarding concerns and escalation
- Respond to crises professionally and appropriately, following policy and safeguarding procedures
- Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant case notes and records
- Liaise with academic teams, HR, and external professionals (e.g., NHS, charities)
- Support wellbeing policy development and continuous service improvement
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Education or related field
- Experience in wellbeing, safeguarding, or support roles
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a confidential caseload and maintain accurate records
- Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent Duty and professional boundaries
- Ability to support diverse and complex needs
Preferable Criteria
- Mental Health First Aid or counselling qualification
- Experience delivering wellbeing workshops or campaigns
- Experience in Higher Education (HE) or community support
