LIVINGOUR VALUES
PARTNERSHIP
With London Community Kitchen
At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to Zero Self-Doubt and Zero Hardship. To bring these values to life, all students beginning their journey with us are given the opportunity to take part in activities with London's Community Kitchen (LCK)— a charity dedicated to Zero Waste, Zero Hunger.
LCK plays a vital role in tackling food insecurity across London. Each week, LCK intercepts over 80 metric tonnes of surplus food—food that would otherwise go to landfill—and redistributes it to those in need. Through this effort, more than 20,000 Londoners are supported every week.
FROM LCK
TO LCK ACADEMY
Our partnership with LCK has also created a unique pathway into education for LCK volunteers who channel through LCK to the LCK Academy (LCKA) for the following reasons:
Volunteers Seeking Education
Volunteers who wish to build on their experience of community engagement through formal learning then apply to LCKA
Vocational to Higher Education
Students on LCK vocational courses enhance their training with real-world experience and then wish to move into Higher Education
Community Success Stories
Members of the community who once queued for food at LCK have since enrolled in and successfully completed LCKA Higher Education courses
This journey demonstrates the powerful impact of turning challenge for volunteers into an Higher Education opportunity, therefore removing barriers and empowering individuals to reach their potential.

Student Induction Experience
Hands-on volunteering and community engagement
STUDENT
Induction & Volunteering
As part of their induction to LCKA, our students are given the opportunity to visit LCK to:
Gain insight into its operations
Participate in volunteering activities such as food preparation, sorting, and distribution
Serve underprivileged and vulnerable members of the community
This hands-on experience allows students to engage directly with grassroots initiatives, fostering both social responsibility and practical learning.
COLLABORATIONS
Beyond Volunteering
Our collaboration with LCK goes beyond volunteering. We have:
Electric Van Investment
Contributed to the purchase of an electric van to support sustainable food distribution
Food Truck Operations
Invested in a food truck, giving students the opportunity to run and manage operations as part of our Business Accelerator initiatives
Urban Farmer Project
Partnered with the University of Portsmouth on the Urban Farmer Project, assessing the wider impact of community-led solutions.
Also, in keeping with LCKA's values of Zero Self-Doubt and Zero Hardship and LCK's values of Zero Waste, Zero Hunger.
These initiatives not only align with our vision to become a leading provider of higher education, but also reinforce our mission of building confidence, removing barriers, and harnessing entrepreneurial talent within the community. Our students' learning is directly connected to these real-world projects, with several assessments based on the operations of the LCK Academy.
